Our engines are perfect in every detail and
satisfy the most stringent customer needs. Before delivery every motor is tested on a
proving ground and correctly adjusted for mounting. Apart from the starter and clutch
every part of the engine is automatically included in the delivery. Carburettors, ignition
distributor and generator are professionally restored and tested. The engine can be operated
with unleaded gasoline! The crankshaft is re-positioned and together with the restored
flywheel re-balanced. The cylinders are drilled and bored and the pistons renewed. The
cylinder head is measured, equipped with new valve guides and graded. Finally, a new
varnish, combined with different surface treatments, gives a magnificent look to every
engine. Engine restorations that are not for exchange can be carried out as well.
Specially for the types: 220 SE, SEb, 300, b, c, S, SE, Sc. Send us your defective
engine, we will examine the spare parts and send you a cost estimate. We also provide
mounting and de-mounting.

Every carburettor that is to be restored is
checked for completeness and originality, disassembled and cleaned. All parts are examined
for wear and tear as well as for damage and - depending on the diagnosis - renewed/replaced
or repaired. Removed throttle shafts are renewed, worn mountings/seatings equipped with
bronze bushings, manually reamed out and brought to the required settings. The casings are
bead blasted and all threads re-cut and/or restored. Surfaces are plain-milled, mixing
chambers, in cases of excess wear, spindled out, over-massed throttle valves adjusted.
All additional parts/spare parts are re-manufactured and supplied with corresponding surface
finishings. The mounting process includes the use of new gaskets, diaphragms and
re-manufactured parts. For the completed carburettor, float level and acceleration pump are
set to the required standards.
Which carburettor do you need? Have a look at
our supply programme or send us your special request. Single restoration of types that are
not included in the exchange programme can be combined with a cost quotation.
Every ignition distributor undergoes an initial
examination on the distributor test bed. Subject to the diagnosis the shaft bearing is
renewed or adapted on "Compobuchsen" (early types). After jet cleaning the casings are
rubbed down and varnished. After the components have been examined and the worn parts
exchanged, the construction and adjusting follows, with reference to the Bosch-instructions.
The final examination and adjusting includes spark gap, dwell angle, centrifugal force
and vacuum advance. We restore your 300 SL-distributor as well as your 540K. Common types
are available directly from stock.
After the de-mounting of the starter or generator,
anchors and fields are tested and processed. In the case of badly reinforced field
spools, they will be re-wrapped and coated in special varnish. After the bead blasting,
casing-parts are polished and varnished. Additional parts such as magnetic switches,
pinions and Compobuchsen will be restored. The mounting process takes place with all the
new or renewed parts and the starters and generators tested.
Due to the fact that spare parts for older
transmissions are hard to get, we examine the state of all helical gears, shafts and
function-parts very carefully. The casings are emptied, jet-cleaned, externally cleaned
and newly-varnished. Needle bearings and DIN-bearings are renewed as well as sealing rings
and gaskets. Where parts are defective, we can fall back on our extensive stock of used
parts. The adjusting of helical gears and bearing gaps is carried out with great precision
and we adhere strictly to the manufacturers' instructions. If needed, the selector covers
are sleeved and the selector rods are resealed. Restored transmissions delivered without oil.
Brake anchor plates and wheel naves are
carefully jet-cleaned, wire brushed and varnished. As far as the drive pinion and ring
gear is concerned, these parts will be replaced with new or used spare parts in cases of
excess wear. Differential gears are adjusted to be free of play, and all links are restored.
The renewal of all bearings, rubber sleeves and sealing rings is obligatory. For link
axles the connecting pins are sleeved and reamed. The right adjustment of plate and cone
wheel is examined by inking. The axles are supplied without brakes and oil filling. In case
of special requests your brakes can be restored as well. If you are concerned by noise or
even worse things from your axle, we can help you!
